Get to know Urologist Dr. Angelo E. Gousse, who serves patients in Florida.
Dr. Gousse is a premier bladder health physician and a nationally renowned reconstructive urologist in Miramar, Aventura, and West Palm Beach, Florida. As the Founder of Bladder Health & Reconstructive Urology Institute, he has dedicated himself to the highest levels of patient care and medical expertise possible.
Having been in practice for more than 25 years, he provides a range of medical services, including artificial urinary sphincter implants, penile prosthesis implants, urethral reconstruction, overactive bladder treatment, pelvic organ prolapse repairs, urinary tract reconstruction, enlarged prostate treatment, and stress urinary incontinence treatment.
Specializing in both male and female voiding dysfunction and reconstruction, Dr. Gousse has been a pioneer in the development of third line treatments of overactive bladder. He was the first to perform Axonics Sacral Nerve Modulation in South Florida for the treatment of overactive bladder. He pioneered the usage of Botox (Botulinum Toxin A) in the treatment of overactive bladder and neurogenic bladder. The clinical trials he led as principal investigator resulted in numerous scientific publications and contributed to the first FDA approval of Botox for urologic use in August of 2011.
In his local area, Dr. Gousse is the Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Urology at Memorial Hospital Miramar, and is affiliated with Aventura Hospital & Medical Center.
Alongside his clinical role, he is a Clinical Professor of Surgery within the Department of Urology at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, and a Voluntary Professor of Urology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Prior to his voluntary work, he served as tenured faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Gousse earned his Bachelor of Science degree from York College, City University of New York in Queens, New York, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. He then attended Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, where he earned his medical degree and graduated cum laude, the highest honors awarded at Yale. He went on to complete his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and a postdoctoral fellowship in urodynamics, female urology, and pelvic floor reconstruction at the University of California, Los Angeles.
